QUESTION: I have a fan that is operated by remote... and I have a on/off wall swtich. The remote works fine, but when I use the switch it seems to reset the fan. So if I turn it off and then back on... I then need to find the remote to get power to the unit. I have seen the same fan set up so that when you turn the switch off and then on, the fan will return to the most recent setting. Is it my switch or my fan giving me the problem? Thanks!
ANSWER: Without knowing what brand and model your fan is I cannot give you an answer. However, generally speaking, the way your fan is operating is normal for most remote controlled ceiling fans. Some of the upscale fans that we carry have special wall controls that work in conjunction with the remote control so they do not get reset. If you can give me more inforamation about your fan (how old is it, where did you purchase it, brand name, model number) I may be able to offer you more specific details.
