I am looking for a fan to push heat down from a very high ceiling in an entry-way. Do all fans come with a switch to change the motion of the fan upward or downward and do they all have a remote? I have a townhouse that needs more heat to stay downstaris. Would you advise the #5 rating?

Not ALL ceiling fans are reversible and many ceiling fans do not come with a remote control, but most can have one added. In many cases, an added remote will not reverse the direction of the ceiling fan. Remote controls that are called "Full Function" remotes, in most cases, will have the ability to reverse the fan. We do our best to make it clear in the description of the remote whether or not it is a full function remote or whether or not it will reverse the direction of the fan. In most cases, when a ceiling fan comes with a remote control included, the remote will have the ability of reversing the fan. In almost all cases, even if the remote does not reverse the fan, there is a reverse switch located somewhere on the fan that enables you to reverse the fan manually...with few exceptions for fans that are simply non-reversing. Ultimately, this information is not always clearly stated by the manufacturer, so it is best that you call and talk to one of our ceiling fan experts so they can show you which fans are in fact reversible from the remote control (or wall control). And yes, we highly recommend any ceiling fan that has a quality rating of 5 as the best choice.
