We currently have a total of 408 Contemporary Ceiling Fans on our website to choose from. With so many choices, how can you possibly decide which one to pick? Well, there are always a choice few of them that stand out and are worthy of serious consideration, so I give them a review. The Vita, introduced by Casablanca Fan Company in the summer of 2009, is just such a fan.
English translation of the Latin word Vita: "Life"

"The Vita is the latest Rage in Contemporary Ceiling Fans.
Exquisitely designed by the Casablanca Fan Company to Quietly
Cool Off Your Body while bringing "Life" back into your Decor." (quote by Greg Tillotson)
When I first saw the Casablanca Vita ceiling fan debuted at a trade show, I was so fascinated by it that I failed to ask the designer why it was named the Vita.
Subsequently, I pondered the question and came to my own conclusion: The Latin word "Vita" means "Life", and the Vita truly does "Bring Life to your Decor"...
the name is perfect.
The Casablanca Vita has a strikingly pure and pristine look about it. The lines are clean and the shape is balanced. Perfectly proportioned to capture the soul of contemporary European design.
But what really gives the Vita life is the deep lustrous finishes that Casablanca has formulated and meticulously applied. The finish is married with the shape. They compliment
each other giving the Vita an extra something that just makes it "come alive" and stand out amongst other fans. The Casablanca Vita simply exudes contemporary style and opulence.
When you see this fan in a room, there is no feeling of ambiguity...it is unmistakably a high fashion and high quality product. The Vita truly does have the ability to "Bring Life to your decor"
Looks can be deceiving...but not with the Vita!
Some ceiling fans look great, but after installed, they simply do not perform up to your expectations: some wobble, some make noise, some don't move hardly any air.
The Vita is quite the contrary. Casablanca incorporates the same level of quality with every component used to make the entire fan from the inside out including
the motor, controls, lights, blades etc. The Vita is in fact made to such a high level of excellence that it will most likely "Exceed" your expectations in every way.
Those who have owned a top-of-the-line Casablanca ceiling fan understand this.
Here are some of the features that make the Vita even more appealing!
90 Watt Uplight:
The Vita has a 90 Watt incandescent light built into the top of the motor housing that shines upwards casting a soft glow
on the ceiling above (often referred to as an uplight). Although uplights for ceiling fans are not uncommon nowadays, the Vita is the first Contemporary style ceiling fan made by Casablanca to have this feature.
The uplight can be dimmed to create a unique mood or atmosphere in your room. It is also often used as a very interesting night light since it can be turned on and dimmed without having the downlight on.
100 Watt Downlight:
The 100 Watt Halogen light fixture built in to the bottom of the fan is unique because of the way the outer glass ring is illuminated indirectly by
the main halogen light in the center of the fan. This was one of the features caused me to do a double-take when I first saw the fan...noting how interesting the effect was.
Casablanca does a good job of describing this effect themselves in their own description of the fan, which I have quoted below on this page.
Sophisticated Remote Control:
The Vita includes the Advan-Touch remote control system, which is Casablanca's top of the line, and most sophisticated control ever. The Advan-touch remote gives the fan 6 speeds in forward and 6 speeds
in reverse and 2 full range light dimmers, one for the uplight and one for the downlight, so you can operate both lights independent of each other.
There are many other features of the Advan-touch system such as Safe-Exit and Home-Safe modes which I will not get into in this article,
but just know that the Advan-Touch is the best ceiling fan control on the market.
High Performance Motor:
The Vita also includes Casablanca's top-of-the-line "XLP" motor, which is one of the highest quality ceiling fan motors ever made. Not only does the motor run dead quiet while moving lots of air
(over 6800 CFM), it is so rugged that you could leave it running 24 hours a day for years on end and it will not burn out.
Best Warranty Ever:
Casablanca is the only fan company that includes "House Calls" in their warranty. The Vita is Backed by Casablanca's 120-Day In-Home Service warranty, which means if something goes wrong with the fan during the first
120 days, Casablanca will foot the bill to have a service technician come to your home and fix it. The motor has a lifetime warranty and all other parts and electronics are warranted for the first year.
Here's how Casablanca Fan Company describes the Vita:
"
The European modernist movement was born at the close of World War I, when pioneering architects and artisans began to create distinctive, functional structures and furnishings. With its angled planes and streamlined curves, modern materials, and fine craftsmanship, the Casablanca Vita Ceiling Fan is a seamless extension of the European modern design vernacular. The uplight of this distinctive contemporary fan casts a soft, incandescent glow on the ceiling above. The Vita features an innovative integrated light kit with a halogen-lit center bowl that indirectly illuminates a glass outer ring, creating a two-step visual transition between the light source and opaque body. The Vita is available in a range of finish options that enable the fan to either harmonize with existing surroundings or create a dramatic focal point. Whether it is used in a residential or commercial environment, the Vita's clarity and simplicity will infuse contemporary interiors with timeless grace.
"
My Conclusion:
In today's economy, it is increasingly important to many of us that we spend our money wisely on things that will improve the quality and enjoyment of our daily lives.
Things that make us feel good when we come home from a hard days work...and most importantly, things that we will not soon need to replace. The Vita is one such thing. It is designed
to make you more comfortable and to make your home more appealing.
My Epiphany: "The Vita is designed for Life."
