Covered ceiling fans are ceiling fans that have a metal cage which covers the motor. A covered ceiling fan will move substantially more air than a normal ceiling fan simply because there are metal blades that operate at a very high velocity. These fans are very popular in kitchens but can also be used in other rooms such as living rooms, dens, and bedrooms simply because they are different than the norm and create a unique decorative appeal. These fans are fantastic for keeping flies and bugs from coming into the house when installed near doorways that open to the outside.
