Answer: The Ellington Monaco ceiling fans come with a 12" downrod. This length is necessary in order to install the fan with the decorative scroll that is attached to the top of the fan body. This puts the fan blades at 19 1/2" from the ceiling. Building codes require the blades to be at least 7 feet from the floor, so you cannot install the Monaco on an 8 foot ceiling. Even if the downrod was 6" shorter, the blades would still be more than 1 foot from the ceiling. Therefore, the Monaco ceiling fan must be installed on a ceiling that is at least 8 feet 7 inches high.

We really like this fan (Ellington Surfboard Fan Ceiling Fan Model SBF58AN5LKRCR2), but are not crazy about the light fixture it comes with. Can you tell me if this would be possible to change? Looking at your ceiling fan light section, we really like model K4M - would it be possible to do something similar with this style fan? Thanks!!
Answer: The Ellington Surfboard ceiling fans have a light fixture that is built-in to the bottom of the fan. There is no way to change the light fixture or install it without the light. Also, there truly is no other surfboard ceiling fan like this, so if your dislike for the included light fixture is not overcome by the unique surfboard style of the fan, then this may not be the fan for you. Otherwise, surfs up!

Is it possible to link multiple fans to the same switch?
Answer: You can run multiple fans from a single switch...it is very common, particularly with industrial fans such as the Ellington Utility fan. However, the more fans you run from the switch, the more amps the switch must be rated to accommodate. So you need to make sure the switch you use is rated for the amount of fans you run on it...there are limitations.

We have one of your 42 inch units that looks about the same as the one above. It was bought from a third party through EBay. The blades were made up from this supplier with Scar Face on the four blades. Upon checking the box the unit came in we noticed that the main bracket was missing. This is the one that attaches to the ceiling box. I have contacted this supplier about a month ago and he told me that he found it on his work bench and was going to mail it out to me. Never did.
Answer: The question is..is the fan the exact same brand and model. Pretty much every brand makes a fan that looks like this one...it is a commodity. However, each brand makes their mounting hardware differently and they are not normally interchangeable. It is also unlikely that the bracket for this type of fan will be sold separately by most manufacturers because these are very low end fans and they keep the cost down by not bearing the cost of stocking parts for them. You might also find that the part will cost you more than the person you bought the fan from charged you for the fan by the time you pay for shipping and such. Anyway, find the brand and model number then get back to me and I will see what I can do.

Answer: Ellington does not have any galvanized blade options, so the answer would be no. I am not aware of any ceiling fan brand that offers galvanized blades on a traditional ceiling fan.

Answer: The MR16 halogen bulbs used in the Ellington Galileo fixture are quite common and can be purchased at most home centers and department stores. Even many grocery markets carry them. There are also a wide number of websites that specialize in light bulbs where they can be purchased.

I've seen pictures of this particular fan from other online retailers and they show a solid silver dome instead of the glass dome for the light. Does the fan come with a solid silver dome if you prefer to install with no light, or does the fan only come with the glass cover for the light?
Answer: Sorry to say that the fan you are referring to cannot be the Ellington Ellipse. Ellington does not make the Ellipse without the bottom light, nor do they make an optional cap to replace the light. However, we have many contemporary fans that do come with such an option. I am looking for a 6' wide ceiling fan for a library that can accomodate 10 lights or more on it. We have an old Carnegie Library that is dark and are in hopes of installing ceiling fans that provide more lighting.
Answer: There are no ceiling fans that have 10 lights...at least that provide any more wattage than a fan that has 5 (which is still uncommon today). However, I am sure that we can handle getting the air circulated in your library as well as illuninating it, whether it be from ceiling fans alone, or a combination of ceiling fans and correctly chosen lighting fixtures. Can you please email me some pictures of the library so I can make some suggestions. Also, give me some idea as to the dimensions, where you plan to locate the fan(s) as well as the height of the ceiling. Finally, just for good measure, here is a link to a new ceiling fan/chandelier that will soon be introduced by Casablanca Fan Company. Certainly an interesting look for a Carnegie Library, but maybe not sufficient for your lighting desires. Although it has 56 light bulbs in it, they are very low wattage and only add up to 304 watts total. Here is a link...let me know what you think:

Answer: The model of fan you are referring to is a Harbor Breeze fan, which is sold only by Lowes, so you will need to see if they can order a blade for you. However, the odds of Lowes supplying you with a replacement blade are very slim. Unlike the brands we carry, which for the most part, do have replacement parts available. You are most likely going to need a new fan...depending on what Lowes tells you. If that is the case, please call us and we will help you select one that will never have such problems.
