Ceiling Fan Light Fixtures and light kits
Replacement and add on light kits for ceiling fans How to select a light kit for your ceiling fan...
When shopping for a ceiling fan light fixture, we highly recommend that you purchase a fixture that is the same brand as your fan. Many ceiling fan lights will only fit on specific models of fans within their own brand...and will not even fit all models withing their own brand, much-less a different brand. Also, each manufacturer has their own finishes, which rarely match other brands...even when it comes to simple finishes such as white, polished brass or antique brass. With that said, many ceiling fans are designed to accept Universal Light Fixtures. A universal light fixture is one that mounts to the bottom of the fan using a standard threaded mount, which uses 3/8" allthread. Fans that accept universal light fixtures have a removable bottom cap with a threaded hole in the center similar to the fan picture on the left. To determine if your fan can use a universal light fixture, you must be able to remove the bottom cap from the fan and there must be existing wiring ready to be fed through a 3/8" screw hole in the center. If you have a fan that already has a light fixture, you must be certain that you can remove the existing light fixture from this screw hole and that the light kit is not actually built into the entire bottom cap of the fan. Also, you must be aware that finishes between brands will vary, even if they have the same finish name and description, so if you are picky about things matching perfectly, you will need to make sure you only buy a fixture made by the same brand as your fan.

LOVE THE FAN. WOULD LIKE TO PUT A DROP ROD OF 24 INCHES. IT HAS LONG ENOUGH WIRE TO DO SO. BUT THE DROP ROD SEEMS TO BE SMALLER THEN A NORMAL DROP ROD THAT YOU FINE AT LOWES OR HOM-DEPOT. IT LOOKS LIKE A HALF INCH. WHERE CAN I GET THIS DROP ROD.

CA60OI - http://www.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/craftmade/model.asp?ProdNo=CA60OI
I have a Craftmade CA60. The lights flickered to bright and the fan and lights quit working. There is power to the wall control and the on-off switch does turn the power on and off. The fan does not work nor do the lights. Can I assume the problem is in the RF controlsand if so are therse repairable or replaceable? Would it be worthwhile replacing parts or should I just replace the fan?
