QUESTION: Will remote automatically work with this fan or will I have to do any rewiring? The ceiling fan I have is worried directly and not to a wall switch.
ANSWER: This remote is only designed to work with specific Casablanca ceiling fans, so the answer depends on the fan that you already have. The receiver wires into the canopy at the ceiling. No extra wiring is necessary to install the receiver aside from connecting it to the existing ceiling wiring and to the fan wiring. Please contact us to discuss your particular fan model.
QUESTION: The add shows a 4 speed wall control with a lite control. Is that included in the price of the 55061 Casablanca fan?
ANSWER: The Panama Gallery fan does include the 4 speed wall control at the price published on our site. The optional 99020 hand held remote control is also included FREE for a limited time. (That offer may have expired by the time other visitors read this posting).
QUESTION: will a 1994 wall for a intelertouch and rods work with a new fan ?
ANSWER: No, the inteli-touch system is antiquated and not compatible with new Casablanca fans. Casablanca has also changed their mounting hardware and downrods, so the older downrods will not work either.
QUESTION: i have a 25 ft ceiling in my living room and I need a fan and a downrod that would make sense. Any ideas?
ANSWER: High ceilings such as yours require a powerful ceiling fan with an extra long downrod. For many brands, we have downrod couplers that allow you to connect downrods together to create a longer downrod. The actual fan we recommend will be determined by several other factors including: Style, Finish, Room Size and your budget. We will call you to discuss these things and help you choose the best ceiling fan for your needs. For those reading this response, it is best if you simply call and talk to one of our ceiling fan experts at: 1-800-201-1193.
QUESTION: Are the Casablanca wine country rosewood blades outdoor rated?
ANSWER: The Casablanca wine country rosewood blades are NOT rated for use outdoors. Thanks to your question, I have modified the blade options page to make it more clear which blades are "Indoor Only", "Outdoor Damp" or "Outdoor Wet" rated.
QUESTION: Can I change the halogen to CFL bulb? Enough room? I may need an adapter.
ANSWER: You cannot change the halogen bulb to a CFL bulb, there is not enough room nor was it designed for use with CFL bulbs. The reason Casablanca uses a halogen bulb instead of a fluorescent bulb is that the halogen is dimmable. The DC Stealth competes directly with the Emerson Midway Eco, which is currently the top selling DC ceiling fan on the market. The Emerson Midway Eco uses a Fluorescent bulb which is NOT dimmable. So for consumers who really want the ability to dim the lights, they are more likely to purchase the Stealth. So if you prefer to have a fluorescent light, you may want to consider the Emerson Midway Eco. Here is a link to it on our site: Emerson Midway Eco
QUESTION: ." Control transmitter NOT recommended for use with more than one ceiling fan.. " How do you control this fan if you have two fans installed on a vaulted ceiling?
ANSWER: Each of the Casablanca Vita ceiling fans will come with their own remote control that should be programmed to match up with its own fan when installed. So you simply use one control for each fan. We never recommend trying to use 1 remote transmitter to control 2 fans because if for some reason one picks up the signal and the other does not, then your fans will be out of sync (1 on and 1 off), and it is difficult to get them back in sync. The potential for this problem is even worse in larger rooms where one fan may be out of range of the transmitter while the other is not depending on where you are standing in the room. For this reason, you will find that virtually all ceiling fan manufacturers recommend using a single remote control for each fan. Hardwired wall controls are the only 100% reliable method of controlling multiple fans at the same time, but it is costly to run the wires in such a manner if they do not already exist, which is why many of the higher end fans nowadays come with remote controls. So, just use the 2 controls that you get with the fans.
QUESTION: Need advice to remove ceiling fan Casablanca Model No. CB 184440 from the ceiling. The fan is so tight to the ceiling I cannot get a screwdriver between the fan to get to a slot in the cover that is against the ceiling. I can see a screw in the slot but cannot get to it. Do I have to take the fan apart? Or what?
ANSWER: Not sure what model of Casablanca fan you have since the model number you supplied is not a Casablanca model number. Regardless, my suggestion is that you tilt the fan away from you as you attempt to remove the screw. The fan sits in a ball that can rotate up to 30 degrees when you push on it. Be careful not to bend the blade irons by pushing on the blades. I would remove the blades first for that matter to make it easier. Also, it is best if you use a very short phillips head screwdriver.
If you email me some pictures of your fan, I will most likely recognize it and may be able to offer a different tip, or at least confirm that my advice was correct. Email pictures to: firstname.lastname@example.org
