   trying to find out the make of my ceiling fan so i can buy a light kit. all it has on it is a madel # AC-552A (SKU#312-575) and UPC#718212043721

   Answer: The ceiling fan you are referring to is a generic model that was most likely mass produced in China. Home Depot had a model AC552 at one time, but with a different UPC code than the one you have supplied. Fans like yours do not usually have a brand name. They are imported directly from China and sold under various different brand names such as Hampton Bay or Harbor Breeze...whatever the mass merchant that imports the fan wants to call it. If you can email me a couple pictures of the fan, I may be able to help you with a light fixture. Send one of the entire fan and one of the bottom of the fan so I can see how a light fixture might connect. Email to: gregt@hansenwholesale.com

   My customer requirements are as follows- Replace existing light fixture with fan, mounting not a problem, difficult and expensive to run additional wiring. They want a wall mounted switch which will control the fan speed, light and reversing. they do not want a rod over 72 inches, ceiling heighth 18 feet. They have selected a HamptnYG215D-ORB. A choice I do not agree with. What fan do you recommend instead of this fan. I don't think they will be happy with it.

   Answer: Yes, I would agree that the Hampton Bay YG215D-ORB Langston ceiling fan is a very poor choice. Low performance, wobble and likely a very short lifespan.

   I am assuming that there is an existing 2-wire switch in the wall that operates an existing receptacle in the ceiling correct? Also, I am assuming that you must have a control that uses just 2 wires since running a 3rd wire is out of the question? Based on these assumptions, my first suggestion would be the Montecarlo Royal Danube. It is a 60" fan with a built-in uplight and an optional downlight. It comes with a wall control that uses 2 wires yet controls the uplight and downlight separately and gives you 3 speeds in forward and reverse. No need to run any additional wires.

   I need Gyro type ceiling fans that do NOT have a cage around the fan blades. Is there such a thing?

   Answer: Take a look at the models made by Matthews fan company. They can be purchased without the cage.

   Fan mfg. Rhine Mfg., UC-7067RC, glass shade fell off, broke need to replace, where do I find source

   Answer: Rhine Mfg does not make ceiling fans. They make remote controls that some ceiling fan brands use with their products. You need to find the brand and model of the fan. Look for a label on the top of the fan motor housing for this information. If it is a brand and model that we carry, odds are we can get you the replacement glass. Otherwise, if the fan was purchased from a local home center or department store, you may have to replace the entire fan because they normally cannot supply replacement globes for the fans they sell.

   I need replacement blades in for 2 different fans, both fans are made by fanimations. Do you carry parts for these fans ? If you don't carry them, could you possibly tell me where I could find them?

   I have a ceiling fan on my vaulted ceiling the model number is AC 385 and the serial number is 005204, I need a replacement remote for it. Where can I get one?

   Answer: Your fan is a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. You will need to contact Home Depot since it is their own house brand.

   Is it legitimate practice to wire a celing fan without a switch and use a wirewless remote to turn on and off. The fan would be wired like a receptacle and always have juice flowing to it. On / off would be remote only, no switch.

   Answer: Absolutely. I would say that a good majority of fans that we sell are installed in such a manner. They either come with a remote control or people buy an optional remote control along with their fan.

   i have a room with a loft (opened attic for an office space) and it does NOT have an air vent. so two months of summer are very warm.. I am considering a regular fan vs. minka aire gyro (two fan, brushed nickel). what do you recommend? seems your avg of the minka is not excellent..
