The Edgewood is the work-horse series of ceiling fans from Fanimation. The 60" Edgewood Deluxe is a larger than average size ENERGY STAR qualified ceiling fan that moves over 7800 CFM while using 82 watts of electricity, so it is quite powerful and rather efficient. The Edgewood Deluxe is for use in dry locations only (indoors) and you can choose from a variety of blade and light fixtures options to design the Edgewood fan to best fit your needs. We highly recommend the Fanimation Edgewood Deluxe in larger than average rooms for those who desire a simple traditional style ceiling fan that moves lots of air, runs quietly and is well priced.

Fanimation EdgeWood 60 Deluxe Ceiling Fan Comparison Review
How does the Fanimation EdgeWood 60 Deluxe Compare to the Average Ceiling Fan?
Quality Rating = 4 (average is 3)
A Quality Rating of 4 is above average, the Fanimation EdgeWood 60 Deluxe ceiling fan will run smooth and quiet and will give you many years of operation with no worries of the motor burning out.
Airflow = 8963 CFM (average is about 5755)
8963 CFM is a lot of airflow and is far above average, which is very good news if you want a ceiling fan
that can really cool you off. Fans like this will allow you to raise your thermostat by up to 10 degrees, which can save you as much as 40% on your cooling bills.
By doing so, it is possible that the Fanimation EdgeWood 60 Deluxe may pay for itself during the first year of operation depending on the normal cost to run your air conditioning.
Efficiency Rating = 107 CFM/Watt (average is about 86)
An Efficiency Rating of 107 is
well above average.
Efficiency is defined by the EPA as the amount of airflow a fan produces (CFM) divided by the amount of
electricity (Watts) it uses on high speed without any lights on. Efficiency is less important than Airflow because more
CFMs allow you to raise your thermostat higher...which is where you will save the most energy. Efficiency becomes more important if
you expect to operate several ceiling fans at the same time. (see calculator below)
Electrical Usage = 84 Watts (average is about 76)
84 Watts per hour is
higher than average, so the Fanimation EdgeWood 60 Deluxe costs a little more to operate than other fans.
Use the calculator below to estimate just how much it will cost to operate this fan in "Your home".
CFM -vs- Efficiency: CFM is KING! It is more important to buy a fan with higher CFMs than it is to buy a fan that uses less electricity. The highest wattage consumed by the most energy guzzling ceiling fan on our website is about 120 watts. So if you input 120 as the fan watts and run our calculator, you will see that it still costs less than 2 cents per hour to operate the most energy guzzling ceiling fan in most states.
You will get more savings with a higher CFM fan than a lower Wattage fan because if your fan moves more air
you will be able to raise your thermostat to a higher degree. Raising your thermostat by 10 degrees can save you up to 40% on your cooling bills. Choosing a less powerful fan because it uses less electricity can be the worst mistake you can make because it will not cool you off enough to allow you to raise your thermostat to a high enough level without becoming uncomfortable. This is why CFM is so much more important to consider than Wattage.
