Every January marks the International Lighting Market held at the Dallas Market Center. The event this year will be held from January 19-23. It is at this event that most ceiling fan manufacturers unveil and introduce their new models to retailers and wholesalers around the world. Each manufacturer likes to keep their introductions rather secretive, but sometimes I am able to get some inside information prior to the show. So far, it has been very quiet, but if I hear anything in advance of the show, I will post it here. When I return from the show, you can expect to find the latest greatest ceiling fans here on this page.
I do not expect that there will be a large amount of new ceiling fan styles introduced in Dallas this year. With the economy still somewhat struggling, Manufacturers are tightening their operations in an effort to cut costs, increase efficiency and minimize price increases. I anticipate more options for existing models such as variations in blades, light fixtures and controls. Limited improvements in technology, such as more energy efficient ceiling fans that are environmentally friendly. With government regulations for ceiling fan lighting now in full steam, we might see more changes in the type of lighting used with ceiling fans. Look for more fans with LED lights since there is a major push for LED in the lighting industry as a whole.
The minute I hear any news about specific new ceiling fans for 2012, I will post it on this page. So come back soon if you want to stay informed.

In January 2012, Emerson Air Comfort Products is very excited to reveal their “Blade Select Series”. This series includes 6 fans which will adapt to an offering of over 50 blades! From intricately carved solid wood blades to tropically influenced weather resistant blades, the Blade Select Series allows the end consumer to tailor design their fan exactly to their aesthetic. Because they are using powerful motors in these fans, this selection also allows any of these fans to range from 52” to 72” in span and also offers choices in indoor and outdoor rated combinations. FYI: Fans with less powerful motors would not be able to handle the larger blade spans without burning out.
Here are a fiew of the fans that are in the Blade Select Series:
The NEW Laguna Bay ceiling fan is a transitional-tropical design for indoors or outdoors which can be paired with over 50 blades from 52”, 58” or 70” spans. The first image shows the Laguna Bay in our Venetian Bronze finish (CF620VNB) with our new B63ASW blades. The second image shows the Laguna Bay in Antique Pewter (CF620AP) with our new Palmetto Blade in Vintage Black (B62VBl) and our Boardwalk Cage Light Fixture (LK40AP). The third image is the same Laguna Bay in Venetian Bronze (CF620VNB) with yet another new blade option (blade model not yet defined).
Emerson’s Transitional Great Room Fan, the Carrera Grande is also a part of The Blade Select Series. Pictured here in Brushed Steel Finish (CF787BS) with 60” span, Chocolate Solid-Wood Blades (B78CH) and our new Over-Sized Artisan White Palmer Light Fixture (LK161BS).
A third model that’s a part of Emerson’s Blade Select Series is Emerson’s traditional Premium ceiling fan, which has taken on a slightly updated look, to allow more customization. Pictured here in Golden Espresso (CF4801GES) with 60” Span, Chocolate Solid-Wood Blades (B78CH) and our Chandelier Fitter with Sandstone glass (F495GES, G53).
These are just 3 of the 6 fans that are a part of our new series which we’re excited to launch in January. With 9 finishes, 6 fans, 52” to 72” spans, The Blade Select Series ensures the end consumer they’ll get a quality fan that will provide a quite, durable breeze in the exact look they want.
In addition to the Blade Select Series, Emerson will launch several other designs. Here are two particular models we’re excited to introduce as great stand-alone designs.
Our CF410, The Marquette Ceiling Fan, features beautiful artisan glass. This 54” span fan stands out as unique because of its oversized 15” diameter glass which houses four 13-watt CFL bulbs. This design will also be available in Oil Rubbed Bronze with Artisan White glass and in Brushed Steel with Artisan White Glass.
Emerson’s Luxe Eco (CF550) is a contemporary design features a very unique blade design and allows for versatility. This fan will be offered in Oil Rubbed Bronze and Brushed Steel with Opal Matte glass and the option of either Walnut or Dark Mahogany Blade Finishes. This fan comes complete with a hand held remote control and “No-Light” plate allowing the end consumer to chose to install it with or without the downlight. This fan boasts Emerson’s EcoMotor allowing considerable energy savings and energy efficiency. The unique back-swept “window” blade and sleek housing create a striking aesthetic perfect for any modern home.
Emerson’s Braddock Ceiling Fan (CF440). This model is shown in Venetian Bronze with Amber Mist Glass. This transitional design includes solid wood, hand carved blades in Dark Mahogany finish. The sturdy design boasts a beautifully-crafted, decorative metal frame which encompasses the fan’s upper accent light. This integrated look comes complete with a four speed hand held control and will be launched by Emerson in January.

According to a response I received directly from Fanimtion, they have some new products in the design phase but will not be making any final decisions until they get feedback from dealers who preview them in January at the Dallas Mart. So don't expect anything new from Fanimation until later in the year. We will post more info here the minute we receive any news.
