These
measurements are the width and height of the mantel opening (inside

Fitting
the Fireplace:
Each
mantel has a 1 1/2" pocket on the inside of the legs which is
designed to overlap over marble or tile of a 1 1/2" thick or less.
All mantels come
with a pre-mitered scribe molding to fill in the difference in thickness
of the marble or tile if it is less than 1 1/2" thick.
Finishing:
These mantels are hand crafted and carved from a beautiful Asian hardwood called Choi. Choi is a light colored, tight grained wood which is similar in grain character to American White Oak and is great for painting or staining any color. Sanding and filling will be required prior to finishing.

mantels are unfinished,
some assembly required...
Quality:
Although
Choi wood is an excellent furniture grade wood, as with any wood,
imperfections are to be expected and considered to be part of its natural
beauty.
