Anything with this logo is a
hand crafted reproduction fashioned after
a very old original antique.
Using only the finest quality 100% virgin brass, skilled craftsmen put an enormous amount of time and effort into each piece! Each of these Antique Recreations is sand cast in a similar manner to how they were created hundreds of years ago. Unfortunately, during the sand casting process, many of the pits and imperfections of the original artifacts are either lost or smoothed out. This takes away from the authentic appearance of the piece. So, to keep them looking as close to the originals as possible, our skilled craftsmen actually put the "defects" back in by hand. This painstaking attention to detail gives our "Antique Recreations" the most authentic appearance possible. After the details are put in, the brass is then polished to perfection by hand and then put into a vapor degreaser. This process removes all of the impurities from the brass and prepares it for the finishing process. |

| Once the brass has been purified, it then undergoes an extensive finishing process to bring out it's natural beauty . There are over 40 different finishes available on our brass items many of which are actually natural "patinas". In other words, colors that brass might naturally turn over time. Patinas are not painted on finishes. The creation of a patina is a very exacting science where the natural aging process of the metal is sped up in a very controlled environment. This aging process must be done at a much more rapid pace than in nature. In some cases, a matter of seconds in the process might make the difference between an antique color, a blue green verde gris color, or a rich rosy toned color. Other finishes, such as gold or silver leaf, are actually applied by hand. After the finish has been perfected, each piece is then coated with a heat resistant, baked on enamel finish that never needs polishing. The final result is a work of art that is truly "heirloom quality". |
