The Millennium screens from Portland Willamette are custom made to fit your fireplace. They are of the highest quality construction for lasting durability. They are Made from Solid Brass or Steel depending on the finish that is to be applied. Each screen is "Laser Cut" for precision and absolute quality and is available in a wide selection of hand applied designer finishes. Once applied, the finish is protected by the durable heat resistant coating that Portland Willamette is famous for, so the screen will not only hold up to the heat of your fire, but will have lasting beauty without ever needing polish. The mesh panels are a heavy gauge that helps prevent denting or sagging that is common with lesser quality screens. The Millennium screens will provide excellent spark protection while adding decorative beauty to your fireplace for many years to come.

How big should I have my screen made?

Single Panel Screens: If you want your Single Panel screen standing outside your fireplace, we recommend that you order your screen 2" wider and 1" taller than your opening. This will give you a 1" overlap at the top and on each side for the best look and spark protection. If you want your screen to stand inside your opening, then have it made at least 1/2" smaller on the top and sides.

Folding Screens: The overall width of a folding screen is the measured with when it is completely stretched out flat. Since folding fireplace screens will not stand up on their own when stretched out to this full dimension (nor will they look good), you need to make the screen about 25% wider than the opening of your fireplace. So a fireplace that is 36" wide should have a screen made to about 42" or so. The height should be about 4" taller than the opening. For arch top screens, the 4" should be from the lowest point of the arch. Most arches have a 3" arc, so an arched screen would most likely be made 7" taller than the opening. This should give you sufficient overlap at the top and on each side for the best look, stability and spark protection. We can also specify the actual width of each side panel and the center panel to a certain degree.
