Find out from our Chief Editor...
Every fireplace is different and the doors that are appropriate for "your" fireplace may depend on factors that only a seasoned fireplace door expert would recognize. That's where we come in. We were the very first to introduce fireplace decor to the internet back in 1995 and have experts on staff who have more experience helping people find fireplace doors online than any other company. We do not offer a shopping cart because you really need to talk to an expert to make this purchase. So we ask that you call us first so we can walk you through the process of emailing us pictures of your fireplace, selecting the right type of doors, measuring correctly, and finally, getting your doors installed.

On a more personal note, when I first started in the fireplace business I learned how important it is to pay particular attention to detail when it comes to choosing the right fireplace doors for any fireplace. I started out as a sales person in a small mom and pop fireplace shop over 20 years ago and became their only installer as well. The owner of the company allowed me to measure and install fireplace doors and gas logs on my own time and the customers paid me directly for my work. So I worked 40 hours a week selling fireplace logs and doors...and another 30 to 40 hours a week on my own time installing them.
I made my share of mistakes even though I was always meticulous about measuring and taking note of anything unusual when looking at a fireplace. I also had my share of fixing mistakes made by customers who had taken it upon themselves to measure their own fireplace. All in all, what I am trying to say is that it didn't take long for me to learn that every fireplace is different and needs to be looked at closely. There are quite a few common pitfalls that people fall into when ordering glass doors that either make them look wrong or simply not fit. And when a glass door does not fit, it is not a good circumstance to say the least.
So when we first set out to sell glass doors on the Internet, we made a decision early on that we would not offer a method for people to order directly from our website, because we knew this would cause problems with customers making mistakes either by measuring incorrectly or simply ordering doors that were not designed to be installed on their particular fireplace. Instead, we decided to take all orders over the phone and have our customers email us pictures of their fireplaces so we could make recommendations as well as instruct them how and what to measure
This decision early on is what has lead to our success as one of the largest dealers for fireplace glass doors in the country. Not only have we made very few mistakes over the years, we make far less mistakes than most retail stores who have someone go out to measure their customers fireplaces.
I am no longer an installer, nor do I answer the phones. Instead, I am cheif editor of this website and V.P. of Marketing for the company. However, I still am involved in the hands on training of our excellent staff of fireplace experts...who do in fact will come to me for advice when something very unusual comes up. I still love looking at pictures of fireplaces and making recommendations...particularly when a fireplace is quite bizarre or unique. So, if you want the best advice you can get (and it's FREE), you can email me some pictures of your fireplace and I will be happy to share my thoughts with you personally then pass them on to one of our excellent staff who will gladly take care of you.
I look forward to seeing your fireplace pictures...
Sincerely,
Greg Tillotson
