Custom Aluminum Fireplace Doors
Burn Open or Closed? Unlike other brands, you can burn a wood fire with Design Specialties doors open or closed. If you close the doors, be sure you have a reasonable fire and the grate is at least 8" from the glass. The glass is 1/4" thick tempered safety glass with a Limited Lifetime Warranty for breakage. When burning gas logs or alternative gas fires, the doors should always remain open due to gas safety standards.

"NEW" Profile Aluminum Fireplace Doors from Hearth Creations
Hearth Creations Profile door frames are also made from aluminum extrusions with 1/4" tempered glass. The manufacturer does not recommend burning with the doors closed and will not cover glass breakage under warranty. You can close the doors as the fire is dying out to help extinguish the fire and prevent heat loss during the night. Please call for details about Hearth Creations options.

These clips are designed to work with aluminum doors and make it very difficult for small children to open your fireplace doors yet they are easy to operate by adults. These work with glass doors or doors with wire mesh instead of glass.
