Wind Speed Factor -vs- Efficiency: Wind Speed is KING! Ceiling fans can save you a lot on your energy bills if you use them properly to reduce your use of central air. Ceiling fans cool you off by creating a wind-chill effect, so the more wind speed a fan generates, the cooler it will make you feel. The cooler your ceiling fan can make you feel, the higher you can raise your AC thermostat to conserve energy without sacrificing your level of comfort. Raising your thermostat by 10 degrees can save you up to 40% on your cooling bills, but you cannot raise your thermostat by 10 degrees if you focus only on ceiling fans that use less energy rather than ones that generate higher wind speed. The i6 optional light delivers 1770 lumens, which is a higher light output than most other LED fans and equivalent to a 100 to 120 watt incandescent bulb. Keep in mind that government legislation has dramatically impacted the amount of light you can get from a ceiling fan. The Department of Energy has even gone so far as to define the light from a ceiling fan as "Supplemental Lighting", so fans are not to be considered as the primary source of light in a room according to Uncle Sam.
Gone are the days when a ceiling fan could have a 5 light fixture with 5-60 watt bulbs, or 300 watts of light. Although there are some 4 light fixtures that come with CFL bulbs that can be replaced with LEDs to get you somewhat close, those types of fixtures are old school in style and you will never see them on a fan like this with a flush integrated light.
With that said, there is no better LED array than that on the i6. It is the only fan where you have complete control over the light. Not only is there dimming from 1% to 100%, you can even control the color temperature from 2200K to 6500K. So you can get a soft warm yellow light all the way to beyond super brilliant white light. No other brand of ceiling fans has this capability.
