Assembled In The USA!
The i6 ceiling fans are individually tested and assembled in the USA at the Big Ass Fan headquarters in Lexington Kentucky. After you place your order, your fan will be assembled by a technician and tested for perfect smooth and quiet operation. It will then be disassembled, packaged and shipped directly to your home. It takes about 30 days for this process, but it is well worth the wait to ensure your fan operates perfectly when you receive it. No other ceiling fan company in the USA actually tests every fan before it is shipped out.
Optional Light - Adjustable Color Temp
The optional light for the i6 is fully dimmable and provides more light than most LED fans (1770 delivered lumens). But what's more is there are 5 different color temperature settings from 2200K (very warm) to 6500K (very bright). One of the biggest complaints we hear about LED lights is that people don't like the color. Everyone's taste is different and this is the only fan we are aware of that gives you the ability to adjust it to your liking.
Big Ass Fans - Award Winning Designs
Ceiling fans that have earned the ENERGY STAR feature the latest in energy-efficiency technology including a more energy-efficient motor and improved blade design. Fans with built-in lighting include ENERGY STAR qualified bulbs that last up to 10 times longer and use 2/3 less energy than incandescent bulbs-saving energy, money, and time replacing light bulbs. How does the 72" i6 Outdoor White Compare to the Average Ceiling Fan?
Quality Rating = 5.500000 (average is 3)
Wind Speed Factor: 4.51 MPH (average is about 3)
A Wind Speed Factor of 4.51 MPH gives this fan a Breeze Rating of 5.5 out of 5. This is over the top when it comes to wind speed, so this fan provides about the strongest breeze you can get from a ceiling fan, making the i6 one of the best fans you can buy to cool you off! Keep in mind that fans with a large blade span like this one may move lots of air when it comes to CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), but the airflow is spread over a larger area, so the actual concentration of the airflow (wind speed) is usually less than that of normal size fans. For the best wind-chill effect in larger rooms you may want to consider two or more smaller fans (50" to 56") that have a significantly higher wind speed factor. However, if you can only install a single fan, a larger fan like this may be a reasonable compromise. Just don't expect to feel as much breeze as the abnormally high CFM rating leads you to believe. Aside from Quality, which accounts for smooth quiet operation and durability, the amount of wind-chill a fan can provide to cool you off is the most important consideration.
Airflow = 13860 CFM (average is about 5,000)
WOW...the 72" i6 Outdoor White moves a whopping 13860 CFM of air with a Wind Speed of 4.51 MPH. This is a huge amount of air considering the airflow of an average ceiling fan is just 5755 CFM! If you want a fan that can really cool you off, this fan will do a better job than almost any other fan! Fans like this will allow you to raise your thermostat by up to 10 degrees, which can save you as much as 40% on your cooling bills (if you have AC). Some people find that fans like this pay for themselves during the first summer of operation.
Efficiency Rating = 318 CFM/Watt (average is about 86)
An Efficiency Rating of 318 is in the "WOW" range of super efficient making the 72" i6 Outdoor White one of the most environmentally friendly ceiling fans ever made. Efficiency is defined by the EPA as the amount of airflow a fan produces (CFM) divided by the amount of electricity (Watts) it uses on high speed without any lights on. Efficiency is less important than Airflow because more CFMs allow you to raise your thermostat higher...which is where you will save the most energy. Efficiency becomes more important if you expect to operate several ceiling fans at the same time. (see calculator below)
Electrical Usage = 35 Watts (average is about 76)
35 Watts per hour is "Extremely Low", which is fantastic because the 72" i6 Outdoor White will cost almost nothing to operate compared to other ceiling fans. Use the calculator below to estimate just how much it will cost to operate this fan in "Your home".
Wind Speed Factor -vs- Efficiency: Wind Speed is KING! Ceiling fans can save you a lot on your energy bills if you use them properly to reduce your use of central air. Ceiling fans cool you off by creating a wind-chill effect, so the more wind speed a fan generates, the cooler it will make you feel. The cooler your ceiling fan can make you feel, the higher you can raise your AC thermostat to conserve energy without sacrificing your level of comfort. Raising your thermostat by 10 degrees can save you up to 40% on your cooling bills, but you cannot raise your thermostat by 10 degrees if you focus only on ceiling fans that use less energy rather than ones that generate higher wind speed. To put this in perspective: A typical central air system uses about 3500 Watts when it is running, so if a ceiling fan that uses 100 watts allows you to raise your thermostat a couple degrees higher than a more "efficient" fan that uses only 50 watts, the savings you will get by raising your AC thermostat a couple degrees higher is far more than the difference of 50 watts between the two fans. With that said, a ceiling fan that uses less watts yet produces higher wind speed is a win-win.
