Antique Brass

Antique Brass Ceiling Fans

Ceiling Fan Tip: Antique brass is a very loosely used term to describe darkened or brushed brass finishes. Between ceiling fan manufacturers, no 2 antique brass finishes are exactly alike. Some are lighter, some are darker, some are yellower and some are greener. In general, they will all blend together, but do not expect an antique brass ceiling fan to match other antique brass items in your home. In the past, antique brass was considered the more sophisticated choice for ceiling fans. But at that time, there were only 2 other choices, white or polished brass. Things have changed in the last 10 years with the addition of many new finishes and antique brass has become less popular compared to the new bronze, copper, and nickel finishes that are now available on ceiling fans. Your choices of ceiling fan styles that are available in Antique Brass are far more limited nowadays. Yet, many people still have antique brass fixtures in their home, so if you need your fan to blend in with something else that is antique brass, or simply prefer the antique brass finish, here is the place to find your fan.

What Size Fan Do I Need? BIGGER IS BETTER: The main cooling effect is felt from directly beneath a ceiling fan and drops off dramatically within about 1 foot from the blades. If the fan is in the middle of the room with seating off to the side, use as large a fan as you can handle that has the highest wind speed (refer to our MPH ratings). If the seating is directly beneath the fan, use a fan large enough to cover the seating area.
