Yes this item can be used on a vaulted ceiling. This fan can handle up to 26 degree slope. If you are above 26 degree slope you would have to add an adapter. The Adapter goes up to 45 degrees.

No, all of the DC ceiling fans on our site connect directly to normal 110-120 volt home AC power. There are electronic components in the fan that convert the electricity to DC and create the added efficiency.
