Aluminum

All of the fireplace doors on this page are made from aluminum. Aluminum is an excellent material because it does not rust or tarnish and it is nearly impervious to the heat. Anodized finishes such as polished brass, chrome or brushed nickel are more durable than similar plated finishes on steel doors, so if you are looking for a polished finish, we may even consider anodized aluminum to be better than solid steel even though it is about half the price. Powder coat finishes extremely durable as well, Aluminum fireplace doors are made from extrusions that resemble picture frames, so they can only be made in rectangular shapes and offer limited customization other than size and finish, but since these doors are about half the price of a custom door made of solid steel, they are very appealing.
