Overlap Fitting ZC Doors
Our Comments: If the fascia around a zero clearance fireplace infringes on the opening as in the example below, many of the ZC doors on the market cannot be safely installed. There are special requirements for airflow and most doors that meet those needs must be attached directly to the metal fireplace and cannot overlap the fascia. The doors below can have spaces that hold them about 1/4" away from the fascia to allow enough air to flow into the fireplace so that it does not overheat. We show most of these doors in black, but they are all available in a wide range of Designer Finishes and Trimmings.
Pricing: Prices below are the ballpark starting price for a typical 36" prefab fireplace. Add approximately $200 to $300 for a 42" fireplace depending on the door and more for larger fireplaces. These are all by quote since there are so many options, but we wanted to show you the base price for some of the less expensive choices, which is usually in a black finish. "NEW" Profile Aluminum Fireplace Doors from Hearth Creations
These doors can also be made to overlap the facing on a prefabricated fireplace. They have air slots built-in to the sub-frame with 1/4" gaps on the left and right side glass panes that allow air to flow into the fireplace. This allows them to fit flat against the facing without the need for 1/4" spacers on the back of the frame.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
