Here is a full arched fireplace. When making doors to fit a fireplace like this, we need to add fixed panels to each side in order to allow enough space on the frame for the hinges to be spaced apart vertically. For doors that are wider at the bottom than this example, we would use fixed end panels with glass in them for a more appealing look. In this case, there is no need for fixed glass panels, just a little wider frame will do.
Note: We are not always able to create before and after mock ups for arched fireplaces because our pictures of arched doors can become greatly distorted when they are resized to fit a photo. So please forgive the slight irregularity in the shape of the arch in this example as we did the best we could. When your real doors are actually custom made the arch will be smooth.
These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.
