Project 10046 - Fireplace Door Mock-Ups
Rectangular Brick Fireplace with Arch Above Opening
Opening Size: 39" W x 27"H (arch is approximately 2" from left and right top corners.)
Our Comments: The close proximity of the arch to the opening requires some extra scrutiny to determine if a stock door will fit this fireplace. The first 3 options are stock sizes that, based on the measurements supplied, should fit. Exact measurements will need to be taken so that this can be confirmed. Options #1 & #2 may leave a small gap at the top left of the opening because it appears that the upper left brick is set back more than the rest. Whether or not this is an issue depends on where the original width measurement was taken. The Option #3 may come too close to the arch because it is 2" taller than the opening. To ensure a good fit, we recommend cutting out a flat piece of cardboard to the exact Frame Size of the doors below to see how the stock sizes will overlap the opening and how well they will cover the mortar joints. A 1/2" overlap may not be desirable if the mortar joints are deep because you may see into the fireplace when viewing from the side. The arch may also block that view and it may be a non-issue. If the stock doors will not fit, we can custom make the exact same doors to fit perfectly. We would recommend any custom door to be made to overlap 1" on the top and each side.
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
