Unique Arched Fireplace
Customer Comment: We are renovating our 1933 Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan home and want to add a door to our arched masonry fireplace (see attached picture). It is approximately 32 in. wide and 32 in. tall in the middle of the arch. The flat part of each side is about 16 in. from the floor. We are interested in a traditional design with a bright brass or antique brass finish.

Our Comments: Although we can do a polished brass finish, we recommend antique brass or candlelight brass because they will look better over the years. This two doors we have chosen are both laser cut from a solid sheet of 3/16" thick steel. The Blacksmith door is one of our more traditional styles that has hand forged detail with a hammered texture that gives us a very unique finish. We would require a template be made for the door. If you do decide to purchase from us, we will provide instructions for making the template.

Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Legend Arch in Antique Brass. Bifold Doors with Gate Mesh backup doors. Center stiles on the door frames are recommended when backup doors are used in order to hide the backup door frames. Because the frame for the backup doors would show through the glass, the finished outer frame might as well be what you see.
Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
