Project 10094 - Fireplace Door Mock-Ups
Glass Door for Tile Fireplace
Customer Comments: My Fireplace opening is 39 1/4 inches W X 23 inches H. I don't know if it is masonry or zero clearance. I have included pics of fireplace opening as well as pics of old fireplace door. The old fireplace door measured 44 1/2 inches wide X 25 1/2 inches high. I have included 5 door selections as well as 2 finish selections. If you have better ideas in doors and finishes I would be glad to look at your recommendations. I trust your expertise in this area. Can you tell me how difficult these doors are to install?
The 2 finishes I like were the Powder Coating Vintage Iron for both aluminum and steel doors and the Textured Black. Please be sure to tell me if you think a different finish would go better with my door selections and the fireplace/living room.
Fireplace Measurements: 39 1/4" W x 23" H
Our Comments: We have created examples of each of the doors you requested. We also added other doors which we think are the best choices: The Legend All Glass, The Odyssey and the Slim Moderne are excellent choices for real designer style custom doors. When it comes to the aluminum doors, we feel The Silhouette Cutback is the best option because it has a very flush narrow frame, just like a bullnose around the opening. Notice how the Bedford and Savannah have much wider frames, which may not be the best choice for a fireplace where the opening height is relatively short compared to the width. We agree with your two choices in finish, but might suggest using brite black or rustic black instead of textured black depending on the door you choose. We have chosen the black finish we recommend for the doors we created. Because your fireplace is raised in the wall, whichever door you choose should be made with a 4 sided frame. All stock doors have 3 sided frames, so we do not recommend using a stock door, but if the budget does not allow for any of these custom doors, using a 3 sided frame is an alternative but is not the ideal look.
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Additional Ideas
After looking at the room setting picture you sent and noticing the chrome fixtures in the room, we decided to add this option as a way to tie the chrome finishes in with the black. We can do combination finishes like this on most of the doors above.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
