Project 10128 - Glass Doors for Outdoor Fireplace

Customer Comments: Openings are 34 1/8” x 33” WxH for side A (patio side) And 34 1/8” x 32 7/8” WxH for side B (courtyard side). The firebrick is 1 3/8” tall above the hearth at the bottom. We look to your recommendation for a style that would work best. This is for a senior living apt. community. New but not too modern, but not old-fashioned. You know its hard to please everyone!

Fireplace Opening:
Side 1: 34 1/8" W x 33" H
Side 2: 34 1/8" W x 32 7/8" H

Our Comments: Fireplace doors made for outdoor fireplaces that are in uncovered locations should be made either from powder coated aluminum or 301 stainless steel. The aluminum door can be made with stainless steel hinges for an upcharge, which we highly recommend. The 301 stainless can also be powder coated. Powder coat finishes will hold up well but will fade and become chalky over time. The stainless steel doors are laser cut from a single sheet of 3/16" thick solid 301 stainless steel, so they are quite a bit more expensive but will withstand the elements for many years. Stainless steel is usually considered a more modern look, but when done with the arched window pane as shown below, it takes on a more traditional appeal.

We have supplied links to each door below their corresponding picture so you can get an idea of the prices and options.

Note: These mock-ups are digitally created and meant to be used as a visualization tool only. The door frames are not exactly to scale and the finishes we attempt to replicate may not be accurate and will look different on every device. Mesh Options

These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
