Project 10169 - Glass Doors for Marble Fireplace

Customer Comments: Steve, thank you for your help on this order. Here are several photos of the fireplace. I remeasured twice and found the width of the marble opening to be 36 1/16” and the height at 30 1/16. The marble is 7/8” thick. The rise from the marble hearth (which is at the finished floor level) to the brick of the firebox floor is 1/2 inch. The third photo shows that more clearly. I wasn’t quite sure about your description of the Stiletto door and how it would fit into the opening, but if it was about an inch to an inch and a half proud of the marble face that would be just fine and if the door profile covered an inch or so of the marble facade that would also be alright. When I look at the photos on your website that is the way it appears to fit into the opening. Please let me know if you need any other information and how this door costs out.

Our Comments: The Stiletto door can be made with a cutback from so that the projection is only 5/16" proud where the rest of the frame recesses into the fireplace 1 1/4". If we make the door this way, we will need to use a 4 sided frame with a draft assembly in order to clear the inner brick hearth. The standard Stiletto will project 1 5/8" (proud) but will not require the 4 sided frame. We have created examples of both.

The door frames are not exactly to scale and the finishes we attempt to replicate may not be accurate and will look different on every device. Mesh Options

These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
