Project 10198 - Glass Doors for Large Rock Fireplace
Customer Request: I would like to see the Blacksmith bifolding doors in rustic copper please.
Our Comments: (Revised) The Blacksmith door can be made in a size as large as yours, but will require that the outer frame be broken into 3 separate widths that are welded together with seams (see fig. #5 below). It is also likely that we can make the door without the 3" wide frame, but we will need to confirm the measurement in fig. #1 below. We also recommend considering the Hammered Edge door, which is similar to the Blacksmith, but has a different texture to the frame. Where the Blacksmith door has a hammered texture throughout the entire surface of the frame, the Hammered Edge door is only hammered on the edges (see fig. #5 & fig #6 below). The Hammered Edge door would not require seams and is significantly less expensive, yet provides the same look with the unique rustic hinges. We have created examples of both doors below.
About the finish: Please note that the original picture of this door was in the forged iron finish, so the rustic copper color we created in the mockup is a close approximation but does not have the brushed texture of the true rustic copper finish.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
