Customer Comments: What can we do with this fireplace?
Our Comments: Because the brick hearth has been installed above the level of the fireplace opening, we cannot have glass doors made for this fireplace. In situations like this, we are recommending gate mesh doors instead of glass with the frame mounted overlapping the bricks. This does not block the airflow from coming in and out of the home, but it does afford protection for children and keeps the pets out of the fireplace. The receiver for the gas logs will likely need to be set on top of something to raise it up behind the screen. Many of our fireplace doors can be made with gate mesh instead of glass. Here are some examples of gate mesh doors that look great on this fireplace.
These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.
