Project 10237 - Glass Doors For Ledger Stone Fireplace

Customer Comments: The following photos are the cover we are interested in (Bungalow Stock Door), full fireplace, bottom left corner inside, upper left corner inside, exact measurement width, exact measurement height. Thanks!

Our Comments: The Bungalow does not come in a stock size that fits your fireplace opening, so we would need to custom make that door to fit. Although we can do an overlap fit on your fireplace, the irregularities in the stone will not allow the frame to fit very flush against the fireplace, so there will be gaps as much as 1" deep in places between the frame and the stones. A wider frame like the Bungalow will help hide those gaps, but you may wish to consider a more custom alternative, which is to fit the door inside the opening and fill the gaps with mortar. We have provided examples of both applications, although it is not possible to show the gaps on the outside fit. To get a better idea of how the gaps will be, just put a straight edge up against the fireplace (see fig #2 below).

Fireplace Opening: 44 3/8" W x 24 3/8" H (approximate)

Note: These mock-ups are digitally created and meant to be used as a visualization tool only. The door frames are not exactly to scale and the finishes we attempt to replicate may not be accurate and will look different on every device. Stiletto
Stiletto Fireplace Door Option #1: Stiletto Custom Inside Fit Fireplace Door in Rustic Black - We would make this door 3/8" less on the top and each side, so the finished make to size would be: 43 5/8" W x 24" H
Bungalow
Silhouette Fireplace Door Option #2: Bungalow Custom Outside Fit Fireplace Door in Satin Brass - We would make this door with a 2" Overlap on the top and each side to help minimize seeing inside the fireplace through the gaps in the stones. The overall make to size would be: 48 3/8" W x 26" H

Mesh Options

These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
