Project 10268 - Glass Doors for Prefab Fireplace

Customer Comments: I was working with Terry Barnett last week on purchasing a fireplace insert and door for an existing fireplace. We have settled on the insert but need help with the door. Attached are pictures of the opening and existing insert. The existing firebox is made by Martin Industries and is a Model SA39. It does not show on your chart (which does show a SA36 & a SA42). Dimensions are 39" x 19 1/2" There is a 1/2" frame on the bottom and both sides with a 4 1/2" on the top. I would like to purchase a door for this opening. I need some help as to how to proceed.

Our Comments: We recommend using a door with a laser cut outer frame. This way we can make the outer frame fit just inside the width and height of the granite opening and the door frames will fit the actual metal fireplace opening. So the outer frame will overlap the exposed black metal of the prefab fireplace. The two doors below fit that description. There is a measuring diagram at the bottom of the page that will work for either of these doors.

Note: These mock-ups are digitally created and meant to be used as a visualization tool only. The door frames are not exactly to scale and the finishes we attempt to replicate may not be accurate and will look different on every device. Mesh Options

These options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
