Project 10276 - Glass Doors for Rock Fireplace
Customer Comments: The outside dimensions are: 46.5” x 29”, Inside dimensions are: 38” x 27”. We are looking for a more rustic door to give a more cottage feel to the room. I was thinking something along the lines of Project 10273 or 10271 in your photo gallery. I’m open to other ideas as well. I’m pretty sure there is outside air intake built into the fire box but, need to confirm that. Ideally I’d like it to work more like a wood burner to take advantage of the heat produced by the fire place. As you can see in the pictures there is a fan that blows air out into the room. There is a lever for the damper inside the fire box, nothing on the outside. The cottage is 3 hours from our home so I can’t get a picture of the flue. There is a frame built out from the stone to mount the doors to. Look forward to hearing back from you.
Our Comments: We will need to confirm the actual dimensions of the flat surface around the opening before we determine how to make each of these doors, so we will need to see how it looks with the current doors removed.
Fireplace Opening: 36" W x 27" H

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
