Project #10282 - Glass Doors for Marble Fireplace
Customer Comments: Hi, I went to your website to look for a fire place door for our masonry fireplace. We are looking for a rather “minimalistic” design not to heavy on the eye… Our thoughts are to go for a small frame with clear (but happy to take your advice) glass doors. We want to be able to shut them with the fire on, is ceramic glass required? Not sure what the advantages are of aluminum over steel but maybe you can help us here. Selecting color online is difficult so we probably would stick to matte black. Stilletto / silhouette or Shadow in aluminum f.e. In steel probably legend or legend elite would work best. The fire place opening is 42x32 inch (precise measurements 106.3 cm x 81.4 cm) Could you please make 3 designs for us and also let me know how long an order (delivery to Connecticut) will probably take? Thank you for your support. Best regards,
Our Comments: Here are mockups of some of the doors you requested. We do not recommend the silhouette or the shadow for your application since those frames are nearly 1 1/2" deep and will project out from the face of the marble like a box. The stiletto has the option to have a cutback frame which eliminates the boxy look and fits the frame inside the fireplace with a very minimal overlap, which is what you want. One of our fireplace door experts will answer your other questions when they speak to you on the phone.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 32" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
