Project #10303 - Glass Doors for Tudor Arch Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hello! I am interested in obtaining a quote for metal framed glass fire place doors for the fireplace pictured below. The brick opening measures 26.0” wide, 25.75” high at the peak, and 19.75” to the spring point of the arch, which is the last horizontal mortar joint below the bricks that form the arch. This is a Tudor arch, in a house built in 1935. Ideally, the fireplace doors are mounted just inside the front face of brick, or on the brick surface with a small amount (1” to 1.5”) of frame overlap with the face brick, so that the arch is visible. In other words, I don’t want to put a rectangular set of doors over the arch and cover it up. I don’t expect a digital mock-up will be perfect; I’m able to visualize things pretty well, so if we can land on a style of door and a price, and a description from your team, and maybe a rough mock-up, that should get us the information we need to make a decision. Models that seem to fit the aesthetic, with some modification for this arch shape, are: #46 Black Rock Arch, #47 Legend Plain Arch, #50 Stronghold Arch.

Possible finishes: Espresso, Classic Bronze, Dark Pewter, Venetian Bronze, Forged Iron

Thanks. I’ll look forward to discussing this with you.

Our Comments: Great looking fireplace. Normally we do not do mockups for arched fireplaces, but we did want to do this one some justice, so we took the time to create a single mockup. Please forgive us for not creating more, it is just very time consuming to create this one.

Fireplace Opening: 26" W x 25.75" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
