Project #10324 - Glass Doors for Ledger Stone Fireplace

Customer Comments: Good morning, I’m looking for suggestions for this fireplace. Opening dimensions are 41 1/4” x 27”. The brick edge facing is 3 3/8” and the width from the upper brick edge to the existing damper is 1 1/4” (3rd and 4th Photos). We’re looking for a grey, silver, pewter finish. We liked the Carolina arched door window pane design. Maybe beveled glass with stainless mesh curtain - but open to suggestions. We have a 65" Samsung Frame TV going above the cedar mantel so we were looking at door designs that wouldn’t make it look too much like two large rectangles stacked on top of each other! The TV displays art work most of the time so the effect will be more like a large painting above the mantel than a TV (https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/tvs/the-frame/65-class-the-frame-premium-smart-4k-uhd-tv-2019-qn65ls03rafxza/). We live in Bermuda but have a US freight forwarder in Lebanon, New Jersey so shipping would be in the US. Many thanks,

Our Comments: We have created several examples of doors that we think might work with your fireplace. We added the TV and some sconces for visualization purposes. We believe the Carolina in a brighter silver type finish may do the opposite of what you are trying to do because it makes the door really stand out. We recommend a more muted or darker finish that blends in better. We used the Legend in stainless steel to represent the Carolina since we could not create the Carolina in the finishes you requested. Also, we cannot replicate beveled glass in the mockups, but it can be added to your door if you choose. There is no need to try and match finishes between the TV frame and the fireplace door as you can see from these examples.

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
