Project #10325 - Screen for Prefab Fireplace with Marble Overhang
Customer Comments:
Hi There,
I am looking for a solution to my very short opening to my fireplace. My dimensions are 21Hx 31W and I have plenty of room to play with in depth. We are looking for something modern, simple, and black.
I have attached a few photos for reference. Hopefully you have a great solution for us!
Our Comments: If this was a masonry fireplace, we would normally recommend using a fireplace glass door that overlaps the marble opening and fits under the ledge. But since this is a prefabricated fireplace, glass doors must only be attached directly to the black metal box inside behind the marble. The way the marble overlaps the opening causes problems with where the doors can be attached. Although it can be done, we thought we decided to introduce you to two great alternatives, the first being a screen door that frames the marble opening and has doors that slide open to the left and right. The second is just a basic free standing screen. Both are custom made to fit under your ledge and overlap the marble on the sides.
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
