Customer Comments: Hoping you can propose a few options for fireplace doors on our original 1925 fireplace. Our house is a traditional Craftsman/Bugalow and we have quite a bit of brass/copper on the house. Photos of the fireplace below as well as an outside shot to show the style. Our Comments: Here are some choices you may wish to consider. Each of these examples are hand crafted and there are many options for the castings and details.

Option #1: Stone Manufacturing DF1G Custom Fireplace Door with #48 Floral Casting Cabinet Doors in 24K Gold Leaf over Solid Brass.
Option #2: Stone Manufacturing DF1G Custom Clear View Bifold Fireplace Door with #52 Half Oval Casting Trim in Hand Polished Solid Brass. This is a solid brass fireplace door. The hand polished finish is somewhat dull compared to highly buffed polished brass finish, so it does not look "too" perfect. If you prefer a highly polished brass that is like jewelry, we can do that as well, but we figured this finish would blend better with your other brass pieces.

Casting Choices
Doors made by Stone Manufacturing have many options including these castings that can be used as trim around the frame or as the door frames themselves. They are available in the same finishes as the doors pictured above.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
