Project #10392 - Fireplace Mesh Doors
Customer Comments: Hello, We are interested in a mesh, not glass, door for this fireplace. Width : 43 1/4 inches, Height 27 9/16 inches We are interested in a simple black design but would appreciate your suggestions as well. Thank you for your help.
Our Comments: Your fireplace is a bit tricky because of that vent at the top of the opening. We do not want to cover that up since that is how your fireplace cools itself off and prevents it from burning down your house. So, we would either need to fit the door inside the opening beneath that vent (Option #4) or use what we call a modified Legend ZC Deluxe door (all other options). This door frame would overlap the opening and have a cutout where the air vents are. The doors would be made with a flat wire mesh and there would also be the same wire mesh over behind the vent cutout to somewhat conceal the vent.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
