Project #10468 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hello, I am looking for some absolutely minimal, I want glass doors with mesh screen doors behind. I want the metal finish to be a good match the the tile and Sschlouter edge trim which will be finishing the edges around the Hearth and be inside mount. The opening is approx. 36" x 30ish" it's almost sq. I don't have the exact dimensions handy this morning. I am looking at the Odyssey Custom door, I wonder if it comes in other glass options. The colors shown online look opaque and dark. Also looking at Minimal solid doors, Aspect doors and Stiletto doors. I have a feeling that vintage iron might be a good finish with my tile, but it's hard to tell. Thanks for your help

Our Comments: We have done our best to show how various minimal style fireplace doors will look on your fireplace without seeing the actual tile. We chose the Slim Moderne instead of the Odyssey because it comes with different glass options. The Odyssey is designed with non-reflective black glass that you cannot see through. If you put clear glass on the door, it will expose the inner frame, which is not meant to be seen.

Fireplace Opening: 36" W x 30 (ish)" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
