Project #10505 - Glass Doors for Fireplace Remodel
Customer Comments: My project: I will be covering over the hole on the right and then leveling the entire bottom section with backer board and then stacked stone will be installed over all existing brick. The hearth will be covered with some sort of tile. There is a ledge just above the fireplace opening that jets out about 1/2 inch (ledge is approximately 29” from hearth). I was thinking the door height should probably be less than 29” so it could be installed under this ledge against the bricks and then Stack the stone around new doors. Thinking doors in some sort of brown tone. Any install advice Or ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
Our Comments: Because you have supplied such perfect photos and a great description of what you are planning to do, we were able to create mockups showing the complete finished product with the ledger stone installed. We have included doors made from various materials representing all price ranges.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
