Project #10522 - Glass Doors with Heater
Dear Steve, Please use these photos to show us some options for fireplace doors. This is a big fireplace approximately: 61.5” wide and 36.5” high. So the UI is 98”. So far, we are considering these options, all with clear glass and black mesh curtains behind:
1) Milwaukee Forge Armada Masonry. We prefer the option without the vertical decorative bars.
2) Hidden Hinge Custom Solid Brass with Bi-fold Doors ST-HHFL-CVBF with a steel or hand-crafted steel finish (Stone Manufacturing)
3) Wrought Iron in Rubbed Oil Steel.
We are also open to other suggestions. Our fireplace is wide, so the idea of having bi-fold doors that won't protrude so far over the hearth when open is appealing. But you would need to advise what is doable or not in terms of size/weight/strength/stability of the various styles. As I put in the chat, it would be interesting to include an insert with blower for heat efficiency. It sounds as if you only sell the style that the logs sit on and not the style that is pipes that wrap around the back and top of the fireplace box. Last but not least, could we get the system in this fall before the cold weather arrives? how would installation be handled? can you recommend and/or arrange local installers? We are located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania near Greentown.
Many thanks for your help.
Our Comments: Based on the great description and detail of your request, we can quickly eliminate options 2 & 3 as those doors cannot be burned with the doors closed. So we have created a mockup of the gorgeous Milwaukee Forge Armada door shown with the heavy duty Cozy Grate Heater.
Fireplace Opening: 62 1/2" W x 36 1/2" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
This page was created as part of our Free Fireplace Door Design service. Anyone who has a fireplace and is considering glass doors can take advantage of this program. All you have to do is email us some pictures of your fireplace and we will create digital mock-ups showing you how various fireplace doors will look on your fireplace.
