Project #10638 - Copper Glass Doors for Traditional Fireplace
Customer Comments: Design Services: I have attached photos and am looking for a fireplace screen that is attached to the fireplace. Not sure at this point if I want a glass door due to keeping with the age of the home. I am interested in having some copper and looking for unique therefore open to ideas. I have attached photos along with a separate picture of another door (not necessarily with the copper above it) that I saw as an example.
Our Comments: We can make glass doors that have flat wire mesh in front of the glass so that you get the functionality of glass doors without the look of glass. These mesh doors will be more in keeping with the period style of your home. The same doors can just have the mesh and no glass. You won't be able to tell the difference in the mockups. We also added some free standing screen choices that are available in copper. Copper finishes include polished copper, satin copper and antique copper. We can also add hand hammering to make them appear older.
Fireplace Opening: 34" W x 30 1/2" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Free Standing Screens

Attached Screens
Frame screens are attached to the fireplace with easy to install brackets. Those that have a bar across the bottom help prevent logs from rolling out onto the hearth by allowing the mesh to press against the bottom bar. So the 4-Sided and Top and Bottom bar models provide this extra protection. However, 3-Sided and single top bar installations are quite common.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
