Customer Comments: I’d like to see some of your mock ups. I like daily simple or with arches, but I’m willing to stray out of my comfort zone. I’d like bifold doors and a screen behind. My gut feeling is not black but something subtle to make it stand out a little. Top to bottom including vents 33 1/2- height 41 13/16 width (At top and bottom) but at the center it looks like 42 inches.
Our Comments: There are basically 4 ways to treat a zero clearance fireplace with vents. Each of them are represented below. Many modifications can be made to these designs to fit your taste, but we have chosen concepts that we feel work with your decor.
Fireplace Opening: 41 13/16" W x 33 1/2" H (overall dimensions).

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Stiletto ZC Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. This door fits inside the opening and should be done in black to blend in.
Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #2: Legend ZC Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black. This door is made to overlap the black metal just between the vents.
Medium Range Steel Doors with Louvers
Option #3: Legend ZC Deluxe Fireplace Glass Door with Tuscan Louvers in Forged Iron. This door is made to cover the entire black metal face of the fireplace. There are several louver patterns, but this one is the most elegant without being overstated.
Option #3B: Legend ZC Deluxe Fireplace Glass Door with Vintage Louvers in Burnished Bronze. This door is made to cover the entire black metal face of the fireplace. There are several louver patterns, but this one is the most elegant without being overstated.
Option #3C: Madrid Fireplace Screen Door in Rustic Copper. This door has flat wire mesh instead of glass, which allows us to mount it to the brick.
High End Hand Crafted Wrought Iron & Solid Brass Doors
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans and provide a look unlike any other fireplace doors. They are quite expensive and are for those who appreciate and invest in fine craftsmanship.
Option #4: Hand Crafted Steel Door with Flat Wire Mesh in Front of Gray Glass. Shown with Rivets and Pitted Detail in an Oil Rubbed Steel Finish. This door is specially designed to overlap the bricks and completely hide your prefabricated fireplace. Having mesh in front of the glass combined with tinted glass blocks your view of the inside when the doors are closed and maintains a pleasing aesthetic. The fire must be burned with the doors open with this type of door.
Option #5: DF6G Hand Crafted Solid Brass Square to Arch Door with Flat Wire Mesh in Front of Gray Glass. Shown with Rivets and Pitted Detail in an Antique Copper Finish. Same features as Option

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
