Project #10721 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: No Comments
Our Comments: Prefabricated fireplaces like yours are designed to have the doors installed before the facing is applied. So to add doors after the fireplace is installed requires specially made doors to prevent the fireplace from overheating. These doors are made by Stone Manufacturing and have 1/4" spacers behind the frame to allow air to freely into the fireplace. You must burn your fire with the doors open. You can close the doors as the fire is dying out. Stone Manufacturing his the epitome of high end as everything they make is hand crafted by artisans.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 28 1/2" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Overlap Fitting ZC Doors by Stone Manufacturing
These are the only doors we carry that can be installed overlapping the fireplace facia. All other doors for prefab fireplaces must either directly overlap the black metal, or mount directly to the black metal. Since none of the black metal is exposed, you must use the overlap fitting doors. There are many finishes available. The Black and Iron finishes are made from steel while the antique and polished finishes are made from real solid brass, which is quite expensive. These doors price out between $2500 and $5,000 depending on the material and finish.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
