Project #10743 - Glass Doors for Fireplace

Customer Comments: Hi there, I’m hoping to get a mockup of of the stiletto doors in a matte type black finish on my fireplace. 41 wide 35 high. Thank you!

Our Comments: If you prefer the narrow frame of the Stiletto, we recommend the Stiletto Cutback, which overlaps the opening 1/4". We noticed that you have a bevelled edge on the stone around the opening. Hopefully that stone is perfectly square. So you will need to measure the inner and outer edge of that bevel. If it is accurate, we would make the door 1/8" larger than the inner beveled edge so that it fits just inside the outer bevel. We have also added a door that fits completely inside the opening and is very minimal in design.

Fireplace Opening: 41" W x 35" H

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

About Finishes!

Before
Before:

Low End Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass

These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

Stiletto Profile

Stiletto Profile: This shows the difference between the Stiletto and the Stiletto Cutback. The stiletto projects out from the face of the fireplace 1 5/8", where as the Stiletto Cutback is almost flat to the fireplace. The Stiletto Cutback requires a very square opening in order to fit properly.

Mesh & Insulation Options

The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.

Black Mesh Curtains - These slide back and forth on a rod behind the glass
Gate Mesh Doors - These are separate doors behind the glass that have a flat wire mesh and a black frame.
Insulation: Provides a better seal between the fireplace face and the door frame.
