Project #10748 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: Hi, I am interested in having a custom fireplace screen made. The actual opening of the fireplace is: 28.5 inches tall and 36.5 inches wide. The opening covering from the ground to the first indentation and from the first side to side indentation is: 36 inches tall and 40 inches wide. We were thinking of having the screen cover that full opening 36 inches tall by 40 inches wide.
Looking at your website we like the look of the custom single panel fireplace screen (Carolina Plain). We would like it to sit as close and flush against the mantle as possible as seen in a couple pictures on your website. Since our fireplace opening is not flush to the ground it would likely only allow for feet facing out if that is possible. We are interested in the classic and contemporary feet. And we like the rustic black, classic bronze, and cast bronze color options. Please let me know if any additional information is needed. Thanks so much!
Our Comments: As I mentioned in my email, the contemporary feet will not work if you want the screen flush against the fireplace. The classic feet will work, but may not be the best style choice. We have created a plethora of mockups for you since the raised fireplace is a common issue and your fireplace is such a great example for others to see. Enjoy!
Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 36" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Low End Fireplace Screens
This screen laser cut from steel with a powder coat finish.

High End Fireplace Screens
The high end screens are hand crafted from solid brass or a combination of brass and steel. These have far more options with the feet and handles and come in a wide variety of finishes.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
