Project #10768 - Screen for Corner Fireplace
Customer Comments: Hi There, We're looking for a freestanding screen or mesh screen for our L-shaped fireplace and wonder if this is something you can do and if you can provide a quote. The longest side is 40" W, shortest side is 21"W, height is about 25". Appreciate the response. Thanks in advance.
Our Comments: There are basically 3 ways treat an L-Shaped corner fireplace: a bar and mesh, free standing screen or glass doors. Creating mockups for these options is difficult, so please ignore the flaws. These mockups are just to provide a general idea of the concepts. There are many options to choose from in each type, which we will discuss with you further over the phone.
Fireplace Opening: 40 W x 21" W x 25" H
Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Corner Fireplace Glass Doors
Glass doors are the most common treatment for a corner fireplace because they help eliminate smoke problems that occur when air blows through the fireplace.
Free Standing Corner Fireplace Screen
Free standing screens can be made with a fixed corner or can have a hinged corner. The fixed corner provides a very clean look and is recommended if you are using gas logs and do not need to access the fireplace often. A hinged corner makes it easier to maneuver the screen when tending a fire.

Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
