Project #10790 - Glass Doors for See Through Fireplace
Customer Comments: Would like to see doors in satin nickel
Our Comments: Here are choices for fireplace doors in satin nickel made from various materials including: Aluminum, nickel plated steel and nickel plated solid brass. Solid brass is by far the most durable and refined finish, but is very expensive. Aluminum is more of a brushed aluminum finish than satin nickel. The steel doors are mid-range in price and have a great looking satin nickel finish, but the finish will not hold up as long as solid brass.

Low End Aluminum Doors
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Medium Range Steel Doors
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.

High End Hand Crafted Solid Brass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel. These doors must be open when you burn a fire.
