Project #10809 - Glass Doors for Fireplace
Customer Comments: Existing fireplace had brass doors which we had removed recently. Unfortunately, the removal left residue around the opening. Have tried to use various cleaning products for slate. My rough measurements: Opening: 35 1/2" wide x 29 1/2" high. Residue Area: 43" wide x 32 1/2" high. This would allow coverage of the residue area.
Our Comments: There are many options for screens that will work for your fireplace. If you are trying to cover the rough patch on the hearth, a 3-fold screen is likely the best. If you are more concerned about the residue around the opening, the other options below are worth considering. We can also make a surround trim that attaches to the fireplace to cover that and then you can use any other type of screen in conjunction with it.

Option #1: Carolina 3-Fold Fireplace Screen in Vintage Iron. This is the least expensive custom folding screen made from laser cut steel.
Option #2B: 3P10M Solid Brass 3-Fold Screen with Finials and Swivel Handles in Polished Brass.
Frame Screens & Surround
These screens can be made with a frame that covers the blemished area around the opening. We are also showing just the surround trim without a screen that can be used with other screens.
Option #5: Black Metal Surround Trim. This can have a mesh curtain like the above options, or can be used just to hide the blemishes.

Option #7: 1P30M Single Panel Fireplace Screen in Oil Rubbed Steel with Craftsman Pattern. The outer mesh inside the craftsman pattern has double wire mesh, which is hard to see through, so it helps hide the damaged slate.
