Project #10862 - How To Drees Up A Gas Fireplace with Polished Chrome Trim
Customer Comments: I am looking for a quote to possibly replace my fireplace doors. I would like a bright chrome look. I assume that would be your polished nickel finish. I don't need anything expensive. Just looking to get a more modern look. Do you have anything simple and affordable?
Updated Comments: Our mistake, it looked like the doors did not open in your picture. Thanks for supplying the additional picture showing the doors open. We have added an additional option for Chrome doors. The Retrotrim options still work with operable doors, so all of the options on this page still apply to your fireplace.
Our Comments: This is a gas fireplace with a fake door that does not open. We cannot replace the door since it likely has a microswitch that engages when the fake door is in place. So we are presenting various ways of dressing up this type of fireplace with polished chrome accessories. We took the liberty of refacing your fireplace using the components that were in your picture.

Note: These mock-ups are not to scale and are meant to help you choose the model of your screen or door, not the finish. Although we may create a general representation of black, iron, bronze, gold and silver tones, you must choose your finish from our samples using the links below. Ask your project manager which samples apply to the items in your project.

Least Expensive Chrome Doors
These are shown in Satin Nickel, but can be made in Polished Nickel or Chrome.
We take your existing door and add chrome plated solid brass trim over the existing aluminum extrusions. This is the least expensive way to dress up your fireplace with Polished Chrome or Nickel accents.
Mesh & Insulation Options
The Mesh options are behind the glass so you can burn the fire with the doors open and still have spark protection. Great for real wood or gas logs since most gas long manufacturers insist that you have a screen in front of the logs when they are burning. Mesh panel doors are the most popular and are best for when there are toddlers present because they will not open backwards whereas the mesh screens are easily pushed in. Insulation goes between the back of the frame and the fireplace facing, providing a better seal.
